Alta Sierra Intermediate Orchestra
Program Information & Forms

Welcome to the Alta Sierra Orchestra program! In orchestra, students will learn proper technique on a selected instrument, musicianship, performance etiquette, music theory, aural skills, practice & organizational skills, citizenship, discipline, and teamwork. Orchestra members will have the opportunity to perform in multiple concerts and festivals throughout the year. Our hope is that through their participation in the ASI Orchestra, students will develop a lifelong love and appreciation of music.

Students and parents should review the following information and complete it together. If you have any questions that are not addressed on this page, feel free to contact your director or email us at notes@becmusic.org.

Tuner/Metronome

Each student is strongly encouraged to have their own tuner/metronome each day in class. While not required, getting regular, instantaneous tuning feedback will lead to rapid improvement.

Our recommended tuner is the Korg TM70BK (or TM60 or TM50) Tuner and Metronome Combo with Korg CM-300 Clip-On Microphone. You can purchase a tuner directly from our online store (link below), at local music shops, or online. Be sure it comes with a clip-on contact microphone!

Violins & Violas: The Korg AW-LT100V is an excellent alternative that clips to your scroll.
