Competition Site: Valley Children’s Stadium, 1600 E Bulldog Ln, Fresno, CA 93710 (See map below)
Gates Open:
11:15am (First band at 11:45am)
Admission: $20.00 General Admission; $15.00 Senior Citizen/Students/Children (under 12)

Buchanan Performs: 8:45pm
Spectator Parking: The best free parking at Fresno State is the P20 Lot located on Barstow Avenue just east of Cedar Avenue. The dorm lot P27 is also an option should spots be available. Handicap parking is available in the Blue Lot at the stadium's south end.
Concessions: Available at the stadium.

Important Reminders

  • Please eat a significant (and healthy!) breakfast before you arrive at Buchanan for rehearsal and a healthy lunch after rehearsal. No soda or energy drinks today. Drink lots of water!

  • Backpacks, ice chests, and strollers are not allowed in the Stadium. No bottles or glass containers or water bottles larger than 12oz are allowed into Bulldog Stadium.

  • Video/Audio Recording is prohibited. Out of respect for fellow audience members and spectators and to protect the rights of the original composers and copyright owners who license their music to the Buchanan Instrumental Music Program and organizations that host events we participate in, the use of audio and video recording technology - including mobile devices and live streaming applications - during and rehearsal or performance setting is strictly prohibited.

  • Parents/Guardians: You may take your student home from the competition AFTER truck is loaded and the students have been officially dismissed) if:

    • You complete the “Post-Event Release Form”.

    • You check your student out from their bus chaperone IN-PERSON. We will only release students to their own parent/guardian.

Packing List

  • Don't forget your 5 S's - ApolloS, Shirt, Shorts, Socks, & Shoes!

  • Bring your water jug FULL of water.

  • Don't forget anything else you will need for the show!

Itinerary - Saturday, October 19, 2024

7:45am Arrive at Buchanan
8:00am Rehearsal at Buchanan
10:00am Run Through
10:15am Rehearsal Ends/Load the truck.
11:15am Dismissed for the afternoon (based on when the truck is loaded). Make sure you eat a good lunch and drink LOTS of water!

• Break •

3:00pm Report to Buchanan. Full Band Meeting
3:15pm Load Buses
3:30pm Depart for Bulldog Stadium
4:00pm Arrive at stadium/Unload the Truck/Pit Setup/Prop Setup/Clean Drums/Tune Drums/Polish & Clean Instruments.
5:00pm Dinner @ Truck (Provided)
5:40pm Props: Meet at truck to carry them to the staging area.
5:45pm Head to Stadium
6:00pm Watch other bands:

  • 6:00pm Orosi

  • 6:15pm Highland

  • 6:30pm Tulare Western

6:45pm Report to the truck/Change into Full Uniform/Get ready for show/Section Time
7:15pm Ready for Warm Up/Percussion Warmup Begins

  • Section Leaders get water for sections.

7:25pm Winds Walk to Warm Up, Percussion Warm-Up Begins
7:45pm Winds Warm Up (Area F)
8:05pm Pit Parents Report to Pit Warm-Up
8:15pm Pit to Gate
8:30pm Pit @ Gate/Band to Gate/Warm-Up Ends
8:35pm Band @ Gate
8:45pm Performance
9:00pm Back to the truck/Load Equipment & Props/Change out of uniform/Snack @ truck (Provided).

  • Pit and Props Loaders: Snack, then load.

  • Trumpets: Load DM Podiums as soon as you are changed.

  • Drumline: Load drumline equipment before snack

  • Everyone Else: Snack AFTER you are completely changed and everything is loaded.

9:35pm Awards Ceremony (Drum Majors Only).
10:30pm Load Buses and depart for Buchanan
11:00pm Arrive at Buchanan/Dismissed
