General Trip Details

Student Transportation: Provided to the event for Alta Sierra. No transportation will be provided back.
Meals Provided/$ for Meals Needed: Dinner provided for all Percussion and ASI Guards.

Competition Site: 2770 E International Ave, Fresno, CA 93730 (See map below)
Gates Open: 5:30pm
Admission: Only cash or cards will be accepted.

• General Admission: $15

• Student Admission: $10

• Seniors (62+) & Military Discount w/ ID: $10

• Child 5 and under: Free

Spectator Parking: Free in the lots around campus. A parking map will be available soon.
Concessions: Food trucks will be available outside the gym.
Merchandise: Located in the gym, there will be T-Shirts ($25), Sweatshirts ($40), and patches ($10) for sale. Cash or card only.

Important Reminders

• For the safety of the student performers, flash photography is NOT allowed during performances.

• Video & Audio Recording is prohibited. Out of respect for fellow audience members and spectators and to protect the rights of the original composers and copyright owners who license their music to the Buchanan Instrumental Music Program and organizations that host events we participate in, the use of audio and video recording technology - including mobile devices and live streaming applications - during and rehearsal or performance setting is strictly prohibited.

Packing List & Reminders

• Transportation is provided TO the event, but NOT PROVIDED on the way home. You must have someone pick you up at the show to take you home.

• Plan to have your hair & makeup done before the meeting time. You don’t have a ton of time after school, so it should be mainly touch-ups.

• Bring all the equipment you need for the show in the morning. You won’t be going home after school!

• Bring your own water bottle and tennis shoes!

**All students will be staying for the entire event and full retreat awards**

Packing List & Reminders

• Every student must stay for the entirety of the event, as the awards ceremony is a “Full Retreat” style. This means that every student goes into the gym to accept the award. The winning ensemble will receive their championship medals. Please be prepared for the late night!

• Transportation is provided TO the event, but NOT PROVIDED on the way home. You must have someone pick you up at the show to take you home.

• We will load the truck on Thursday, the day before the show (more info in class.)

• We will be meeting at the BHS Band Room After school to load busses and depart. Uniform: Student-provided blue jeans, white t-shirt, tennis shoes, bandana and optional plaid button shirt. We will provide the rest of the uniform at the show site (show shirt, show hat) We will have extra bandanas as well.

• The students will be dismissed after championship awards at around 9:45pm

3:15pm Go to the Buchanan Band Room, bring everything you will need for the competition
3:40pm Arrive at Clovis North
3:45pm Set up for Full Ensemble
4:00pm Full Ensemble Rehearsal
4:50pm Run Through
5:15pm Eat Dinner (Buchanan will go through the line first so they can get ready for their rehearsal)
6:00pm Watch Buchanan’s Full Ensemble
6:50pm BHS Final Run
7:00pm Push to East Gym (Larger one)
7:28pm BHS Winter Percussion Performance (Alta sit in back bleachers)
7:39pm Push everything back to the warmup zone for Alta
7:45pm Quick Warmup
8:00pm Run Through
8:10pm Push over to the West Gym (smaller one)
8:20pm At East Gym Doors (The props need to move in one ensemble early).
8:36pm ASI Winter Percussion Performs in the West Gym
8:45pm Push gear back to the truck, drop it off, and go back to the gym for the awards ceremony.
8:50 Line up for Awards at West Gym (small gym)
9:12pm Jr High Percussion/Guard Awards begin. This is a FULL RETREAT ceremony, which means that EVERY STUDENT has to stay through the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
9:30pm Awards conclude. Everyone meets in the back bleachers for a group photo. After the photo, you are dismissed. Change out of your uniform and make sure it gets back on the truck before you leave.

• We will be loading the truck at the end of Thursday Night’s rehearsal, the night before.

• Every student must stay for the entirety of the event, as the awards ceremony is a “Full Retreat” style. This means that every student goes into the gym to accept the award. The winning ensemble will receive their championship medals. Please be prepared for the late night!

• Uniform: The uniform includes long black socks, black marching shoes, and Custom Uniform. Uniforms are to be either worn or put in a garment bag - never crumple them on the ground.

• No transportation is provided to and from this event.

2:15pm A handful of ASI Student-Techs should meet us at the truck to help us unload and get the gear set up.
3:30pm Call Time for the rest of the BHS WP students. Or as soon as students can get there (will be fine if it’s after 3:30pm). Front Ensemble/Battery Set up in the Lot for Alta
3:40pm Battery Sectionals (don’t go near houses or near Alta if possible)
3:45 Front Ensemble assist with Alta rehearsal
5:00pm Dinner, Buchanan eats before Alta
5:35pm Warmup Begins
6:15pm Full Ensemble
6:50pm Final Run
7:00pm Push to East Gym (bigger one)
7:10pm At East Gym Doors (bigger gym)
7:28pm BHS Winter Percussion Performance
7:39pm Fold Floor/Push everything back to the warmup zone for Alta
7:45pm BHS Front Ensemble students reorganize wires
8:10pm Push Alta over to the West Gym (smaller one)

9:34pm H.S. Percussion and Guard Awards - FULL RETREAT @ East Gym (Large Gym) (Everyone attends awards in full uniform)
10:00pm Awards conclude. Everyone meets in the back bleachers for a group photo. After the group photo, you have 10 minutes to take pictures with your friends and family. You will then be dismissed if the truck is done with the load.
