Dear Buchanan Chamber Orchestra Parents/Guardians,
We have exciting travel plans in the works for the Chamber Orchestra this spring! Here is a brief summary of the trips we hope to take:
Sonoma State • Seattle • Western Washington University Orchestra Festival
Wednesday, March 12th: After school departure (charter bus) to Sonoma State. Overnight in Hotel.
Thursday, March 13th: Morning festival performance at Sonoma State University. Evening flight to Seattle out of Oakland.
Friday, March 14th: Seattle Symphony Concert; Free Time, and exchange with local music educator or school orchestra.
Saturday, March 15th: Western Washington University festival performance.
Sunday, March 16th: Space Needle, Museum of Pop Culture, Pike Place Market, Seattle Waterfront
Monday, March 17th: Flight home. Land in Fresno in the early evening.
Field Trip Fee: The full suggested field trip fee for the direct costs (transportation, festival fees, lodging, etc.) associated with this field trip is $1,250.00 per student, The minimum suggested trip fee is $1,000.00 per student. If you are unable to pay either of these amounts, we encourage you to put an amount on the trip form that fits within your budget (“Financial Assistance Requested”).
Payment Due Date: You will be able to indicate your preferred trip payment due date on the trip form and can select a due date up to June 2, 2025.
Please complete and submit the trip form (link below) by Friday, January 24, 2025. All trip fees will be invoiced via PayPal and emailed to the person listed on the trip form after this form's due date.
The field trip fee will cover:
Roundtrip Airfare
Charter bus transportation when needed
Light Rail Transportation Costs (in Seattle)
All Hotel Costs
Museum/Admission Fees
Festival Fees
Several Meals (all of the breakfasts plus other meals).
Fundraising - We encourage all students (and parents!) to participate in current fundraisers so that we may continue to keep our trip costs low.
Participation - Though this trip is not graded, it is an important part of the overall experience and the student’s participation is expected. Any student who does not attend this trip will be required to complete a significant alternative assignment in lieu of the experiences gained from this trip.
Chaperones - We need parent chaperones to make this trip a success. Please fill out the chaperone section of the trip form below if you are interested in chaperoning. trip form.
