General Trip Details

Student Transportation: Provided to the event for ASI (not BHS). No transportation will be provided back for any ensemble.
Meals Provided/$ for Meals Needed: Dinner provided for BHS/ASI Percussion Only. Small snack provided for ASI Guards.

Competition Site: 2770 E International Ave, Fresno, CA 93730 (See map below)
Gates Open: 5:30pm
Admission: Only cash or cards will be accepted.

Spectator Parking: Free in the lots around campus. A parking map will be available soon.
Concessions: Food trucks will be available outside the gym.
Merchandise: Located in the gym, there will be T-Shirts ($25), Sweatshirts ($40), and patches ($10) for sale. Cash or card only.

Important Reminders

• For the safety of the student performers, flash photography is NOT allowed during performances.

• Video & Audio Recording is prohibited. Out of respect for fellow audience members and spectators and to protect the rights of the original composers and copyright owners who license their music to the Buchanan Instrumental Music Program and organizations that host events we participate in, the use of audio and video recording technology - including mobile devices and live streaming applications - during and rehearsal or performance setting is strictly prohibited.

Packing List & Reminders

• Transportation is provided TO the event, but NOT PROVIDED on the way home. You must have someone pick you up at the show to take you home.

• Plan to have your hair & makeup done before the meeting time. Only touch ups and quick fixes after school. .

• Bring all the equipment you need for the show in the morning. You won’t be going home after school!

• Bring your own water bottle and tennis shoes.

Packing List & Reminders

• We will load the truck on Thursday, the day before the show (more info in class.)

• We will be meeting at the BHS Band Room during 6th period to load busses and depart. Make sure you’re all caught up on 6th period work and

• Uniform: Student-provided blank white t-shirts (Plaid shirt of your choice), blue jeans, LONG black socks, and tennis shoes. We will provide the rest of the uniform at the show site.

Schedule

1:15pm Check in with your 6th/7th period teacher and get your homework/etc before the end of lunch if possible. Then come to the BHS Band Room at 1:20pm. We will gather our uniforms and make sure nothing is missing.
1:45pm Load busses and depart for Clovis North HS
2:00pm Unload the trucks and set up equipment for rehearsal/warmup. Get dressed into uniforms after you set up.
3:00pm Start Sectionals, be in uniform by this point,
3:45pm Eat dinner with Buchanan HS! (ASI in the front of the line)
4:30pm Bathroom break, as a group.
4:45pm Full Ensemble
5:30pm Run Through
5:40pm Pack up, and push to the gym
5:45pm Push over to the West Gym (smaller one)
5:55pm At East Gym Doors (The props need to move in one ensemble early).
6:09pm ASI Winter Percussion Performs in the West Gym
6:18pm Push gear back to the truck, set it back up for Buchanan.
6:30pm Debrief with Power at the truck, then change out of uniform. You are dismissed when your uniform is back in your bag on the truck and your gear is put away and set up for Buchanan.
6:45pm Dismissed. Although the ASI responsibilities conclude and we release our guardianship, we recommend leaving your child at the competition until the end of the overall event so that they can watch the high schools. More info below.

After the debrief around 6:45pm, the event is over for ASI, and we will release guardianship, as the staff needs to go and work with Buchanan HS percussion. However, we recommend leaving your student at the competition, so that they can watch the high schools perform, although it is not required. The students get into the competition for free, as they are participants. The conclusion of the event in its entirety around 9:30pm. We recommend using the Buchanan Band Semi Truck as your meeting point for you and your child.

Packing List & Reminders

• Transportation is not provided to or from the event. (Only ASI receives transportation to the event).

• Our uniform will include the black shoes and jazz pants worn for football games. If you need a jacket, a black zip-up is preferred.

• Bring your Nike shoe bag, your own water bottle, and your equipment.

Packing List & Reminders

• Transportation is NOT PROVIDED to or from the event Only ASI is being bussed to the event.

• We will load the truck on Thursday night (2/27) after rehearsal. Be prepared to stick around for at least an hour to load the trucks!

• Uniform: The uniform includes long black socks, black marching shoes, and Custom Uniform. Uniforms are to be either worn or put in a garment bag - never crumple them on the ground.

Thursday March 7th

6:30-7:45pm Load the Semi Truck after rehearsal ends. This includes going to ASI and grabbing their gear

Friday March 8th

3:18pm Meet at Clovis North ASAP after school and help ASI setup. Set up all ASI props, set up BHS drums for tuning. (No transportation provided).
3:55pm All BHS Gear/ASI props should be set up. Everyone should be at North by this time.
4:00pm Eat dinner with ASI (provided). Let ASI be in front of the line. Hang out with them and bond!
4:45pm Have sectionals for about 45 minutes. You dont need to be in uniforms until after ASI performs, today
5:30pm Be @ ASI Ensemble to watch their runs and help them out by this time
5:30pm Review your ASI prop responsibilities/assignments
5:40pm Help Alta push over to the gym
5:50pm At Gym Doors w/Alta. Props need to move into the gym the previous group. Stay behind them and tuck the props into the gym as they go in, one group prior to ASI.
6:09pm ASI Winter Percussion Performs
6:18pm Help Alta push back and re set-up for the BHS warmup
6:30pm Change into uniforms
6:40pm Ready for warmup at the warmup zone
6:45pm Warmup Begins
7:15pm Quick Subs
7:20pm Percussion Ensemble
7:55pm Final Run, then push over to the East Gym (Parent ‘pit crew’ meets at this time)
8:05pm Push to West Gym (smaller one)
8:20pm At West Gym Doors (smaller gym)
8:32pm BHS Winter Percussion Performance
8:43pm Fold Floor/Push back to the truck. *TURN OFF THE BATTERIES ON THE SPEAKER STACKS AND SYNTHS/MIXER**
9:00pm Head inside to watch Red Wave from the back side
8:54pm Red Wave Performs!
Immediately following Red Wave’s performance, head back to load the trucks. Only one member from pit and battery is allowed to go in for awards. Everyone else continue loading.
~10pm Debrief and dismiss at the truck. Trucks should be loaded by now.
